Jenna Penman, a pupil at Kirkcaldy High School, has raised and donated £1000 to the DAFFY Group (Diabetes Awareness For Fife Youngsters) to be used to develop and equip the children’s waiting and play area in the Diabetes Centre at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy. DAFFY supports children in all parts of Fife from birth to 16 years as well as providing a support network for their families.

Jenna, 18, travelled to Kenya with World Challenge and fellow pupils and staff of her school where they helped in a local nursery, building a security wall and working with the children. The Fife teenagers then completed a sponsored climb of Mount Kenya (17,057 feet) with Jenna collecting an impressive £1000 in sponsorship.

Jenna chose the Diabetes Centre to receive her donation as her Gran has diabetes and her mother, Jeanette is a Specialist Diabetes Nurse.
