GRANTS to voluntary organisations totalling £7.2m have been approved by Fife Council.
Among those set to benefit include groups running community facilities, such as the Cosmos Centre in St Andrews and Strathkinness Village Hall.
Sports, culture and leisure organisations, including St Andrews Botanic Gardens Education Trust, and charities supporting vulnerable and disabled people will also receive funding.
Councillor David Ross, the Council’s deputy leader, said: “Voluntary organisations provide a range of very valuable services.
“There are some things that the voluntary sector is better at than the council and it’s important we recognise the vital role these organisations play in Fife.”
