THE elderly woman killed in a road accident in Auchtermuchty on Thursday afternoon has been named.
The victim of the accident in Station Road was 67-year-old local woman Alexandra Elder.

The accident happened around 12.20 p.m. on Thursday, and Fife Police said the vehicle involved and driver were traced at the scene.

However, police are keen to speak with anyone who may have information about the accident or indeed anyone who may have been driving in the Auchtermuchty, Dunshalt or Falkland areas around noon.

Anyone who noticed anything untoward on these specific roads at that time, in particular involving a silver coloured Vauxhall Corsa car or a red BMW sports car is urged to contact the police.

Anyone with information that could assist the police investigation should contact Fife Police on 01592 251111.
