But a housing chief has been quick to re-assure them.
The mums were concerned that the Balfarg properties could be used to house people recovering from drug, or alcohol abuse, or other problems.
They claimed this would be inappropriate because of the large number of children living in The Henge and surrounding area and said they should have been consulted.
One of the mums, none of whom wanted to be named, said: "I asked one of the workman what they were and he said they are like the ones down in Cadham, which I've heard about."
The association's chief executive, Alan McGuckin, said they would be used for normal tenancies.
