BEER, balloons, bagpipes, BMX bikes and bands will be out in abundance at Kirkcaldy's Beveridge Park next weekend.
Three exciting events will converge on the park for a feast of family fun when the Beveridge Park Community Festival meets the Bavarian Music and Beer Festival and the Scottish Balloon Challenge.
Kicking off proceedings will be the Bavarian Music and Beer Festival which will bring a real flavour of Germany to Kirkcaldy to coincide with the 1200th anniversary of Kirkcaldy's twin town, Ingolstadt.
Authentic Bavarian brass and oompah bands will add to the atmosphere as the marquee is transformed into a realistic German ale house complete with long, benched tables, flags and barrels.
The event will run from Wednesday, July 5 to Sunday, July 8, and corporate hospitality packages are available from £200 per table for a minimum of eight people.
And in recognition of Ingolstadt's 1200th birthday, the Herrn Brau Brewery which is providing a selection of beers and wines for the festival, will present Kirkcaldy with a special commemorative wooden ale cask.
The extensive entertainments programme for the beer festival has been pulled together by Robert Main, chairman of the Kirkcaldy and Ingolstadt Twin Town Association.
As well as the brass and oompah bands there will be fiddlers, pipers and drummers, Highland dancers, jazz, folk, youth, rock and ceilidh bands.
And by popular demand Rock Hammer, the band which was created from former musicians from the heyday of the YMCA, is reforming for another performance on the Saturday night (July 8).
The Beveridge Park Community Festival starts on the Friday at 1 p.m. with the official opening with Kirkcaldy Pipe Band, followed by a Teddy Bear's Picnic, live bands, environmental activities, a tea dance and Joe's Band performing live in the marquee.
Saturday will see falconry displays, a fancy dress rugby match, skate board and BMX competitions and DJ sessions.
There will also be an American football match featuring the Kirkcaldy Bulls versus Grangemouth Broncos, Highland dancers and a hip hop/R&B night in the marquee.
Sunday will be more of the same with DJ sessions, drumming workshops and a thai chi demonstration, and the final of the World Cup will be shown live on a big screen in the marquee from 7 p.m.
Around 40 community groups will also be taking part, with daily displays and stalls including everything from arts and crafts to orienteering, and the Army will also be taking part, as will Fife's Countryside Rangers.
Kingdom FM will be hosting an It's a Knockout Challenge and there will be a funfair for the kids.
Liz Easton, chairman of the Beveridge Park Community Festival Committee said: "It has all come together really well and with the three events running together it will hopefully bring a lot of people to the park and the town.
"We are expecting about 35,000 visitors over the weekend, and we are really looking forward to it.
"Last year was fantastic and the weather really made it.
''People were coming along with picnics and spending the whole day there, and this year there will be even more to keep everyone amused."
