A ST ANDREWS-based charity came up with a real scoop when they managed to get new Scotland boss Craig Levein along to the Byre Theatre earlier this week.
The event was organised by the St Andrews-based Association for International Cancer Research (AICR) to raise funds for research into the causes of cancer.
It was a busy night as more than 200 people turned up to hear Times journalist Graham Spiers quiz Levein about his career as a player and manager.
As expected, the Scotland boss didn't duck any questions and gave some fascinating insights into the workings of the modern game.
Levein was honest enough to admit his ill-fated spell as Leicester boss forced him to re-evaluate his management style.
Being sacked for the first time came as a major blow but he described how he turned it to his advantage, identified his own failings and moved on to be a success at Dundee United.
