MYSTERY surrounds the sudden closure of a Glenrothes help agency.
Citizens Advice and Rights Fife has closed its Glenrothes office
Citizens Advice and Rights Fife has closed its Glenrothes office
Citizens Advice and Rights Fife said it had been forced to shut its town branch because of "circumstances beyond our control" – but has not revealed what these are.

The charity is trying to organise a temporary drop-in service to plug the gap left by the loss of the Canmore Road office.

The closure will come as a huge blow for townsfolk with housing, benefits and debt problems, the latter making up a major part of the agency's caseload.

It is not known if the closure will be permanent or temporary, but a CARF statement said that it hoped it would be able to update users "in the coming weeks."

The organisation also has branches in Kirkcaldy, Cowdenbeath, Kirkcaldy and Dunfermline.

Clients are being asked to telephone the main contact number 08451 1400 095 which connects to one of those offices.

Read all about it in this week's Glenrothes Gazette - on sale now.
