HUNDREDS of people took advantage of the 'open studios' event in north Fife last weekend to pay a visit to many of the artists, designers and craftspeople living across the area.
The event, now in its third year, saw people from as far afield as Linlithgow and Perth visit some of the 23 talented local people featured in a free brochure.

Collessie textile artist and painter Marianna Lines described the event as a "fantastic way for members of the public as well as other artists, to view other people's creations."

Over the course of the weekend Marianna's thatched studio was visited by many people who had already visited or were on their way to visit, some of the other local artists in places including Auchtermuchty, Cupar, Gauldry, Giffordtown and Newburgh.

One visitor from East Wemyss with an interest in ancient stones and carvings said she thought the event offered a unique insight into artists at work.

Marianna said the event had also given her the opportunity to meet people with similar interests.

She said fellow Collessie artist Alfred Malocco had also been inundated with visitors to his studio at The Glebe.
