KIRKCALDY MP Lewis Moonie's treatment by Prime Minister Tony Blair has been described as "shabby".

Members of the Kirkcaldy Cooperative Party this week condemned the move to resign Dr Moonie to the back benches and vowed to vent their disgust in a letter to Mr Blair.
Dr Moonie was ousted from his position as defence spokesman and Minister for Veterans during the highly controversial cabinet reshuffle last month.
Widely credited for doing a good job during the recent Iraqi war it was even hoped he may be given a fuller role in the new cabinet.
But supporters have been left stunned by his removal.
A spokesman for the Kirkcaldy Cooperative Party told The Press: "It was felt Lewis Moonie had done an excellent job as Junior Minister in the Ministry of Defence.
''All during the Iraq affair he never put a foot wrong.
''When he was on the television he was exemplary in the way he carried out his duties.
"To just get a phone call from Tony Blair ending his period in that Ministry without any prior warning ... there had been no indication at all that Lewis was going to lose his job. The chairman felt that was shabby way to treat him.
"Since he got the job he was probably one of the best Ministers in Westminster and most of us expected him to be promoted."
As well as being Labour Party members both Kirkcaldy politicians Dr Moonie and Marilyn Livingstone MSP are members of the Cooperative Party, who provide financial support to the Kirkcaldy Constituency Labour Party.
