A now-regular sight in Leven was blessed by bright, mild weather on Thursday as the Promenade hosted the annual Boxing Day Dip.
Around 40 registered revellers turned up in an assortment of colourful, imaginative costumes and braved the icy waters of the Forth for a quick plunge in aid of the children’s cancer charity, CLIC Sargent.
Conditions were very good once again for the occasion, which attracted a customary large crowd and an enthusiastic blend of experienced ‘dippers’ and first-time entrants.
Medical and safety cover was provided by St Andrew’s First Aid and Kirkcaldy Sub-Aqua Club, with hot refreshments supplied afterwards at Leven’s Caledonian Hotel.
CLIC Sargent fund-raising manager Thomas Buchanan said: “It’s a well established, community-led event and that’s one of the most distinguishing features about it.”
