A RECENTLY-MARRIED Kirkcaldy man has pledged to help others through the biggest day of their lives with a new book.

Benjamin Lowrie has written and self-published his first book ‘Every Bloke’s Guide to Getting Married’, which aims to furnish males with tips on such things as proposing, planning the wedding, writing the speeches, and how to avoid the pitfalls of the dreaded stag do.

Ben, who married his wife Laura in 2009, said: “Before the wedding my mother gave me a book to help write all the speeches.

“There wasn’t a lot in it, so I thought there was a space in the market and just went ahead and wrote it.

“I started from the beginning, from a bloke’s point of view and tried to give an idea of what to expect.

“I put it in terms of my own experiences and tried to keep it as humorous as possible.”

Ben, who works as a tenancy support officer with Link Living, has already been selling copies of his book at wedding fairs around the country.

He added: “Writing is something I have been wanting to do but never done anything about it until recently. I would certainly like to pursue other writing projects.”
