A festival that hits all the right notes

AS Fife Festival of Music entered its second week, people of all ages from across Fife - and beyond - have been hitting the right notes.

This session of the annual event, which is now in its 33rd year, draws to a close tomorrow (Friday) with the final two classes being held at the Adam Smith Theatre.

Winners of the Open Classes will compete for ‘Young Musician 2013’.

Hundreds of people have taken part in this year’s festival, with entries coming from individuals, community music groups and schools.

Once the ‘A’ period finishes, organisers will begin looking ahead to events taking place later this year in a change to the festival’s format.

The ‘B’ period in May will involve instrumental workshops and the ‘C’ period is planned to take place in November.
