A GROUP of poker players have dealt themselves in to the Rally Round Rovers campaign, and anyone can join in.

A fundraising poker night is being held for the team and is open to both experienced players and beginners.

Mike Keddy, who has organised the evening said: “I’m in a poker league of around 30 people and we always hold a fundraiser each year so this time we decided that Rally Round Rovers would be the perfect cause.

“It’s going to be a real fun evening with prizes on the night for the best players.

“Everyone is welcome to come along and join in. The most it will cost anyone will be £20.

“We would like to encourage novices to come along too. I’ll be there from six o’clock if anyone would like a crash course in poker beforehand.

“It’s a simple game to pick up and the more experienced players will keep them right during the course of the evening.

“They say it takes a day to learn and a lifetime to master!

The Rally Round Rovers Poker night will be held in Styx on Monday, December 28 at 7.30 p.m.

There is a £5 buy-in with an option of two £5 buy-ins and a £5 add-on.

The event is for over-18s only.
