A walk in the woods on a chilly autumn night is not everyone’s cup of tea.

But the prospect of a visit to the Enchanted Forest should be enough to tear you away from the television and a blazing fire.

The event, at Faskally Wood near Pitlochry is an extravagant sound and light show that sets the trees and water alive, takes visitors into the heart of the show, and includes acrobats performing high in the trees.

There’s a story-telling yurt for the youngsters, and seasonal mulled wine for the adults at the award-winning show, now in its 14th year.

The 2015 show, named FLUX, has been designed by a creative team led by Derek Allan including Scottish lighting designers Kate Bonney and Simon Hayes, and specially composed and recorded music, and sound effects by RJ McConnell and Jon Beales.

Mike Cantlay, chairman of VisitScotland saw a preview of the event and described it as: “more spectacular than ever before.

“The creative team at The Enchanted Forest has an exceptional way of refreshing their approach every year to create a unique event that showcases Scotland’s natural landscape at its very best. This is a must-see event this autumn for people of all ages, one of the best shows I’ve seen all year,” he added.

The Enchanted Forest runs until November 1 – for more information and to book, go to www.enchantedforest.org.uk
