Former First Minister Alex Salmond drew a huge audience when he visited St Andrews this week.
He was in town to sign in new book ‘The Dream Shall Never Die’ and attracted more than 400 people to hear him speak.
His talk was followed by a book-signing session which saw him still signing books in to the early hours of this morning.
Mr Salmond’s late night was followed by a morning visit to Topping & Company’s Greyfriars Garden store for another lengthy signing session.
In a relaxed mood he recalled his time as a student at St Andrews, and was delighted at the success of his book, which is his personal diary of last year’s referendum campaign.
“St Andrews has given me a record crowd for a book signing,” he enthused, “it was a fabulous reception last night - I am very happy to be back in St Andrews.”
