Contributors to a special publication celebrating life at Waid Academy received a special preview of the work last week.
A photographic book, entitled ‘A Year In The Life of Waid Academy’, has been put together to reflect an academic session in the existence of the Anstruther secondary school, prompted by its 125th anniverary festivities.
Former pupils and staff were invited to contribute poems, short stories and other memories of their time at St Andrews Road, while a contemporary view was presented by pupils and staff who were at the school during the 2012-13 session.
Their contribution encapsulated a typical year of activity at the school, both academic and extra curricular.
As well as regular school events, there were references to sports, dress-down days, efforts on behalf of the RNLI, book days, sponsorship, the many charity activities which take place at Waid, and more.
Selected guests were invited along last Monday for a sneak preview of the book, which is due to be published at the beginning of June with a formal launch.
Pictured above are some of the guests at last week’s event, held in the Waid library.
