Smokers in Glenrothes are being given an extra incentive to kick their habit.
NHS Fife is urging smokers to put down their cigarettes and pick up a new craft skill to encourage more people to give up smoking for good.
Beginning on Wednesday, August 6, the health board is beginning a series of weekly stop-smoking evenings at Glenrothes Hospital.
These classes will not only provide support and resources to help individuals to stub out for good, but they will also help equip people with a range of new craft skills.
The stop-smoking evenings are completely free to attend and provide a range of fun craft activities, alongside access to expert advice and coping strategies, stop-smoking medicines, and a chance to support and learn from others.
Cara Hutchison, smoking cessation practitioner, said: “These new stop-smoking classes bring a fun element to breaking a habit that can lead to serious health problems.”
