arty Kirkcaldy girl Ana Mizerny is a wiz at making celebration cards for her family and friends.
So when she came up with a design featuring a crown and the colours of the UK flag, she decided to send a card to Her Majesty the Queen in celebration of her Diamond Jubilee.
And the P6 Kinghorn Primary School pupil was delighted when she received a letter back from Annabel Whitehead, Lady in Waiting.
She told her the Queen had loved her “splendid card”, adding that “HM appreciated the care you have taken to make it especially for her at this time.”
The letter was accompanied by a special Diamond Jubilee leaflet featuring photographs of the Queen throughout her 60 year reign.
Ana (10), of Redcraigs, Kirkcaldy, was at her gran’s house in Kinghorn when she came up with the design.
She said: “I thought it would make a nice card for the Queen’s Jubilee. I drew a Princess inside and wrote ‘Wishing you a wonderful Diamond Jubilee’ on it.
“I showed my Gran who thought it was good, and we posted it to The Queen about a month ago.
“When the office lady came to my class with a letter I thought it was for my teacher. I saw it was addressed to me and I opened it and saw it was from Buckingham Palace - I was crying because I felt so happy.
“My teacher Mr Archibald said it was really good, and they told everyone about it at assembly.”
Ana’s dad Greig, a community policeman, said everyone in the family, including mum Annette and little brother Gregor (5), were “very proud.’’
“Nobody expected her to get such a personal response. It has made her very happy and she has been watching all about the Jubilee celebrations on the television.”
And, keeping it in the family, Ana’s dad has been invited to a Royal Garden Party at Holyrood Palace in the summer.
