A KIRKCALDY woman has decided to hang up her trainers after working for nearly 30 years in sports retail.
Anna Richardson of Katrine Crescent spent her last day before retiring at ACA Sports on the High Street last Friday, one day before her 51st wedding anniversary.
Anna (73) began working in sports shops in 1982 and has been at ACA since 2001.
“I’ve loved every minute of it,” she said. “I’m a talker and I really enjoy speaking away to the customers.
“Most of them are just lovely, but I won’t put up with any bad language. I’ve hardly heard a bad word come out of my husband’s mouth in the 50 years we’ve been together so I won’t let it happen in the shop.
“Anyone swears they get a telling!”
Anna said that now she’s retiried, she’s looking forward to spending time on her hobbies.
“I like spending time in the garden, depending on the weather. And I enjoy knitting so I’ll be able to spend more time doing those sorts of things.
“I’m mostly looking forward to getting on my husband’s nerves!”
Anna and her husband are jetting off to Alcudia for a well-earned this week.
Upon her return ACA owner Alistair Cameron and the rest of the staff will be taking Anna on a night out where Alistair has promised “there will be a few surprises!”
