Anna Melrose, from Leven, has been awarded the Robert Lawrence Medal in recognition of living with Type I Diabetes for the last 60 years.
She was presented with the Diabetes UK award by Dr John Chalmers at the Diabetes Centre in Kirkcaldy’s Victoria Hospital.
Dr Chalmers, consultant physician at the Centre, said: “We would like to congratulate Anna on reaching this milestone. She has seen many changes in diabetes care and is a great example of what can be achieved by people with diabetes.”
The award is named after Dr Robert Lawrence, who devoted his career to the research and development of effective treatments for people with the condition.
