The Scottish SPCA is appealing for information after a dog was left outside a vets in Glenrothes.
Scotland’s leading animal welfare charity was alerted after the male English bull mastiff was discovered at Kingdom Vets at 1.00 a.m. on Tuesday (June 23) and taken to a police station.
Steven Gray, Senior Inspector, said: “The dog has a lovely nature and is in good condition.
“He is quite distinctive and we are appealing to anyone who recognises him to get in touch. The person responsible may have thought they were doing the right thing by leaving him outside a vets, but they couldn’t have been sure he would be found by someone who would help him.
“He is now in the care of local kennels and will be found a loving new home.”
Anyone with information is being urged to contact the Scottish SPCA Animal Helpline on 03000 999 999.
