Fitness fanatics in Fife are being urged to take part in a fabulous fundraiser next weekend.
They are being challenged to do a series of back-to-back fitness sessions – all on one day – in aid of our Maggie’s cancer caring centre at Victoria Hospital.
Activities will include: boot camp, body combat, attack mix, Zumba, jam, dance, Piloxing and Insanity, all led by qualified instructors from Fife Leisure Trust, Millennium Fitness and Fitness Factor, and Elyse McBride and Lucy Burborough.
The Fit-a-thon has been organised by Mairead Stewart, Maggie’s Fife’s fundraising board member, in conjunction with Fife Sports and Leisure Trust, and it takes place on Sunday, September 28, at Kirkcaldy Leisure Centre.
Each session lasts around 45 minutes with breaks in between, so it should finish around 2.30 p.m.
Mairead said: “I love keeping fit, although I’d not describe myself as super fit, and I wanted to organise something which would be a lot of fun as well as a real challenge.
‘‘This is going to be a great community event with many fitness instructors from other gyms volunteering their time to help raise lots of money for Maggie’s.”
Evelyn Critchon, fitness class co-ordinator at Fife Sports and Leisure Trust added: “We are very pleased to be hosting this great event for Maggie’s at our new facility as well as having our own instructors involved alongside others from the local community.
“We are all coming together to support Maggie’s and the many people in Fife whose lives are affected by cancer.”
Registration is at 8.45 a.m. for a 9.30 a.m. start. To sign up, go online to www.regonline.activeeurope.com, or call Louise Duncan on (01592) 643355 ext 28868.
