First Year pupils at Auchmuty High School recently enjoyed a week with a difference.

In partnership with Christian Youth Trust (GROW), a team, which included a rock band from Essex, a drama group from Edinburgh and Scripture Union workers from various parts of Scotland took over the timetable for a week.

Each morning the topic was introduced by the band and drama group. Then pupils worked in smaller groups investigating these topics in a variety of interactive lessons and workshops including art, drama, discussion, movie clips, team building exercises, and a trading game.

Headteacher Alan Pithie said: “We were delighted to play host to the GROW group at Auchmuty. They brought a huge amount of curriculum enrichment into the school through the many activities that they put on.

“It was very clearly a huge hit with the S1 pupils who enjoyed the week immensely.”
