The NHS Fife Board has marked efforts to deliver safe, effective and high quality care to heart disease patients across the Kingdom with an accolade for the Heart Disease Managed Clinical Network (MCN).

Allan Burns, chairman of NHS Fife, presented lead clinician Dr Mark Francis, MCN manager Lynne Garvey and patient participation group chairman Joe Dobson with a special award in recognition of its significant work.

Established in NHS Fife in 2003, the Heart Disease MCN brings together health professionals with patients and carers, and responds to national agendas as well as driving forward a wide range of innovative local initiatives and service developments.

“Dr Francis has been very much a driving force behind the work of the Heart Disease MCN and we thank him and the wider team for their innovative work,” said Mr Burns.
