Crail is not to be without a way to access cash following a last-minute decision by the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS).
RBS is closing its Crail branch at the end of this month but concerns had been raised that, with the loss of the post office in the town, there would be no way for residents to withdraw money.
“We have therefore taken the decision based on the loss of both the bank and the post office to retain an ATM facility within Crail,” said branch manager Darren Liddle in a letter to the community.
“This move will help provide 24-hour access to cash in the community,”
RBS is also planning on introducing a mobile branch service to Crail on Tuesdays and Thursdays for customers who prefer face-to-face banking rather than online or by telephone.
