A FIFE teenage beauty queen has raised over £1000 for our Maggie’s Centre over the past few months.
Sula Powell (14), winner of the Miss Teen Fife title, raised the money by organising a fashion show, selling tickets for a beauty hamper and helping to make a calendar for the centre, fundraising at her dad’s work and other activities.
Sula gave Maggie’s and CHAS £1300 each after organising the fashion show at the Rothes Halls, Glenrothes, with £300 donated from Diageo, Leven.
Sula is a fourth year pupil at Bell Baxter High School, Cupar.
She was second in the Miss Teen Scotland Galaxy Pageant and won Miss Style Queen at the finals of the Miss Teen Great Britain last month, making it into the top 20.
She was also a finalist in Wales at the Europe’s Perfect Junior Teen and is an active member of Glenrothes Pony Club.
She hopes one day to be a business lawyer or an accountant.
Sula has also just been told that she has been shortlisted to be an Olympic torchbearer in the London 2012 Olympic Torch relay.
The teenager from Windygates, does lots of fundraising for many different charities, and was delighted to raise so much for our Maggie’s Centre.
Her mum Lorraine said: “She is always doing some sort of fundraising activity and has been very successful.”
Tu Edwards, Maggie’s community fundraiser, said: “We are very grateful for all the work Sula does for the centre. She is a real inspiration.”
