All roads lead to Dundee today for the final stage of Bob’s Walk for Maggie’s Fife.
The 117-mile walk, led by retired GP Bob Grant on his crutches, will reach its final destination of Maggie’s cancer care centre in the grounds of Ninewells Hospital late this afternoon.
And that will mark the end of a trek which began at the Kelpies, Falkirk, nine days ago.
Dr Bob has led his team of ten core walkers and many guests on the longest and most challenging walk yet along coastal paths, beaches, roads, forests and farm tracks - and every step means money raised for Maggie’s Fife.
The final leg starts at the southern end of the Tay Bridge and will take the team across the Tay and along Dundee’s new waterfront where they will be joined by a ride out of Harley Davidson bikes who will roar them to their final destination of Maggie’s Fife.
The walkers set off at 1.00 p.m. and should arrive at Maggie’s Dundee around 3.30/4.00 p.m.
Over the course of the last nine days, the team has received many donations on route and been joined by family, friends, guests and sponsors.
Jim Leishman, Provost of Fife, also joined them to walk from Buckhaven to Lower Largo.
