A FIFE breast cancer group has raised over £7000 for Maggie’s Fife from sales of their ‘Brest Friends’ calendar.

In December a group of local women — who are either recovering from breast cancer or receiving treatment for it — had their photos taken for use in the calendar.

Ruth McCabe, who was head of the Kirkcaldy-based centre at the time prior to her retirement, also modelled.

The idea for the new calendar followed on from one previously put together in memory of Ada Ramage by her friends Tricia Cochrane, May King, and members of their aqua aerobics class who all modelled at their local swimming pool.

Some of the Brest Friends bought these calendars and then discussed the idea of doing one themselves and went for it.

Tu Edwards, community fundraiser, said:“On behalf of Maggie’s Fife I would like to thank the Brest Friends and everyone who made the calendar a possibility, as well as those who bought one!”
