The community of Levenmouth got right into the Christmas spirit on Saturday with the annual switching on of the Christmas lights.

Over 200 people turned out for the event, which was kicked off by the children of the St Agatha’s Primary School Choir who made sure everyone was feeling very festive indeed with renditions of Silent Night and Jingle Bells.

Alex Rhone, Rose Queen 2013 and her attendants and Presiding Officer, the Rt Hon Tricia Marwick MSP then led the procession along the high street accompanied by the Methilhill Community Pipe Band, who also brought the event to a fantastic close.

Mrs Marwick thanked the groups involved in organising the event, and welcomed Alex to the stage for the switch on, before headliner, X Factor star Jade Richards wowed the crowd with three songs, finishing her set off with ‘Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree’.
