KINGHORN butcher Andrew Kirk proved to be a burger king at the 2012 Craft Butcher Awards recently.
Craft butchers throughout Scotland put forward dozens of novel ideas for a recent evaluation of Speciality Sausages and Speciality Burgers held at Perth College as part of the awards.
And Andrew enjoyed the taste of success when his combinations caught the judges’ eye and taste buds.
Andrew, who also has a shop in Ballingry, had double reason to celebrate when he picked up Silver Awards for his Sun Dried Tomato and Mozzarella Beef Burger, and for his Bacon Double Cheese Burger.
In addition, his Pork and Leek Sausage also won him a Silver Award.
The event, organised by the Scottish Federation of Meat Traders and sponsored by the Dalesman Group, attracted an entry of almost 250 products.
Judges were drawn from the meat industry and interested sausage and burger aficionados.
