The 2015 Fife Jazz Festival which begins today (Friday) and features a host of major names from across jazz, blues and soul, was launched at the Byre Theatre on Monday.

It’s the only festival to operate all over the Kingdom of Fife and includes concerts in Aberdour, Cupar, Dunfermline, Glenrothes, Kinghorn, Kirkcaldy, St Andrews and St Michaels.

The programme consists of a wide range of musicians, from gypsy swing to Nordic cool, from Jazz Big Bands to solo acoustic blues, and from swinging modern jazz to hard funk.

Some of the highlights include the sensational Ruby Turner who has already sold out her Byre Theatre show tonight, rising star AJ Brown and the acclaimed Story of Swing.

Tonight also sees The Troublemakers, George Shovlin and the Radars play Watts in Cupar.

Tomorrow afternoon The Havanas perform at the St Michaels Inn while Ken Mathieson’s Classic Jazz Orchestra and the John Burgess Big Five swing into the Byre Theatre tomorrow evening.
