a BREAST cancer support group has raised over £7000 through sales of a calendar made by its members.
Last year ‘Brest Friends’ modelled for a calendar to raise money for our Maggie’s Centre.
The models were all former or current breast cancer patients. Ruth McCabe, former centre head, also took part.
The idea came from a previous calendar project which raised funds for Maggie’s in memory of Kirkcaldy woman Ada Ramage.
Elaine Kirk (45), one of the models, said: “It was great getting around Fife selling the calendars. Everyone was so supportive.”
Elaine was diagnosed in 2009 but has since recovered, and is now taking part in a course called ‘Where Now.’
“It’s a great source of comfort to know you are not alone,” she added
Tu Edwards, Maggie’s community fundraiser said: “These donations are vital to sustain Maggie’s in the community. They make a huge difference.”
