‘Calendar girls’ raise £7000 for Maggie’s

MAGGIE’S Cancer Care-based Brest Friends has raised £7,306.04 from a special calendar. The models are either recovering from breast cancer or are receiving treatment.

Ruth McCabe, Centre Head at the time, but who has since retired also took part.

The idea had come from a calendar that raised funds for Maggie’s Fife last year.

Tu Edwards, community undraiser said: “On behalf of Maggie’s Fife I would like to thank the Brest Friends and everyone who made the calendar a possibility, as well as those who bought one.

“These kinds of donations are vital to sustaining Maggie’s in this community.

“We have been very busy so far this year and contributions like these make a huge difference. “We need people to continue supporting us, so that we can be there for people affected by cancer when they need us, for as long as they need us.”

Local papermakers Tullis Russell were among the sponsors.
