A move to Anstruther has lit up Lynn Campbell-Rea’s business venture – Casa Candles – in a blaze of glory.

Lynn and her family moved to the Fife town five years ago from Bothwell in South Glasgow, where she ran an interior design store.

As a result of the success we’ve seen, we are now in the position to expand further

Lynn loved working in her shop and didn’t want to give up on her dream of running a successful business so launched her shop online, specialising in candles.

It has proved such a glowing success, she now has 19 employees and is expanding to launch Kiddi Casa, a children’s soft toy range.

Lynn said: “The growth we’ve seen has been off the scale, from the business initially selling one type of candle back in Bothwell to now offering over 6000 product lines. We’ve sold over a million products online.”

Using Amazon’s Marketplace, Lynn opened up her store to millions of customers who were looking for new homeware products.

She now receives enquiries from all over the world, including Eastern Europe and Australia.

As the orders began to pour in, Lynn needed to rethink her distribution strategy.

She opted for Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA), storing her products in its Dunfermline centre. Amazon then picks, packs and delivers them as well as providing customer service. As a result, Lynn has been able to drastically expand her range.

Lynn added: “As a result of the success we’ve seen, we are now in the position to expand further.

“We are launching Kiddi Casa, a children’s soft toy range, in the next few months which is really exciting.

“FBA makes it really simple to explore other sectors of the market, enabling us to scale up as needed without having to manage the fulfilment process which can be intensive.

“We have gone from strength to strength and we’re really excited for what the future has in store.”
