THE Scottish SPCA is appealing for information after a distinctive cat was abandoned in Kirkcaldy.
A member of the public discovered the young white cat in a pet carrier on Carberry Road on Saturday morning and took her to a local vet, who then alerted Scotland’s animal welfare charity.
Now named Madison, she is being cared for at the Scottish SPCA’s Edinburgh and Lothians Animal Rescue and Rehoming Centre.
Robyn Gray, animal rescue officer, said: “Madison was left in a pet carrier that had a missing door.
“The only reason she hadn’t run away is because she was too terrified to move. Madison was suffering from fleas and is underweight, so it appears she hadn’t been receiving proper care.
“She’s also been diagnosed with a grade two heart murmur, although this shouldn’t cause her any problems.
“Being completely white, she’s quite a distinctive cat so we’re hoping someone will help us identify the person who abandoned her.”
