A man has been charged in connection with an attempted murder after an incident in Levenmouth at the weekend in which a man was stabbed.

Police Scotland officers in Fife were alerted to Kirke Park in Methilhill after reports of a disturbance on Saturday evening, November 21, around 8.30pm.

The street was cordoned off for public safety reasons and a 53-year-old man was found to have suffered a serious back injury, said a spokesman.

He was taken to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, where, it’s understood, he received treatment for a punctured lung.

A 37-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with an attempted murder, added the spokesman, and made an appearance at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court earlier today (Monday).
