STAFF at Leven’s Glen Grocer’s have been running up and down the aisles in practice for a charity race.

Nine workers at the Scoonie Road shop will be temporarily putting the safety cap on their pricing guns and listening out for the starter’s pistol instead at this year’s Race for Life - to be held at Beveridge Park on June 26.

Shop owner Audrey Cunningham has got the group together to take part in the annual race that raises funds for Cancer Research UK to say thanks to the charity for all its hard work.

“My mum had cancer four-and-a-half years ago but got the all clear recently,” Audrey revealed.

“The research they do is fantastic, so the more we can raise the more it can do.”

The group has been busy fund-raising by leaving sponsor forms out for customers to donate, and hopes to raise around £2000.

To boost the total even more, the shop will also be having a fun day on June 4, with raffles and giveaways throughout the day.
