Holy Week: THE town centre churches continue their Holy Week journey tonight (Thursday) with a Maundy Thursday communion service in Auchtertool Kirk at 7.00 p.m. Tomorrow (Friday) we celebrate Good Friday at 7.00 p.m. in Bennochy Church. There’s an early start on Sunday with worship in the church garden at Linktown at 6.30 a.m, an Easter service in the Beveridge Park at 8.30 a.m. (meet beside the fountain) and morning worship at 11.00 a.m. in Abbotshall, Bennochy, Linktown and St Bryce. A warm welcome is extended to all.
St Peter’s services: HOLY Week services continue at St Peter’s Episcopal Church, Townsend Place, Kirkcaldy tonight (Thursday) with a Maundy Thursday service at 7.00 p.m, which will include
sung eucharist of the Last Supper, stripping of the altar and watch of the Passion. The Liturgy of Good Friday will be celebrated at 2.00 p.m. tomorrow (Friday) and Easter Day services on Sunday will be held at 9.15 a.m. and 10.30 a.m. Following this service hot cross buns and Easter treats will be served in the hall.
Sunrise Service: ON Easter Sunday, churches from the Glenrothes area will join together for an early morning sunrise service in Riverside Park, Leslie Road, next to the wildlife pond. If the weather is bad the alternative venue is St Ninian’s Parish Church. This gathering is immediately followed by a free breakfast at St Ninian’s. All welcome.
Spring Teas: ON Saturday, April 6, Spring Teas will be held in Thornton Parish Church hall from 10.00 a.m. until noon. There will be a variety of stalls including cake and candy, craft, books and bric-a-brac. Tickets are £2. All welcome.
Easter Fayre: MARKINCH Parish Church is hosting an Easter Fayre on Saturday from 2.00 to 4.00 p.m. The stalls include baking, craft, tombola and bottle. There are hampers to be won. There will also be an Easter egg competition for the children, face and nail painting and Easter bonnet competition for the adults.
