Three lucky ladies from Colinsburgh are celebrating this week after winning £10,000 each thanks to charity lottery, People’s Postcode Lottery.

Sandra Paterson, Fiona Blyth and Alexis Stott got the surprise of their life this week when they were visited by prize presenter Andy Nicol to present their cheques.

Sandra (54), who has been playing People’s Postcode Lottery since 2011, was first to receive her cheque.

“I’m desperate for a new freezer as my old one is on the blink,” she said,

“But more excitedly, I’m in the process for fixing up my house to sell it.

“My plan is to buy some property in Bulgaria. I feel like I need one last adventure and this money will go a long way towards helping me get there.”

A college lecturer, Sandra added she is looking forward to celebrating with her family later in the year.

“We had already booked a weekend away in Aviemore with the whole famil - my two sons and their partners, my daughter and my six grandchildren,” she says.

“We’ll have a proper celebration then.”

Fiona (49), was working from home at her job as a child minder when she was surprised.

“I’m totally amazed,” she said. “We’ve just had a big celebration for my son Craig’s 18th birthday.

“I can’t believe we’re all going to be celebrating again so soon.”

“I haven’t a clue what to spend the money on yet, but I am looking forward to celebrating again with my husband, Malcolm, and two sons Craig and Calum.”

Last but not least, Alexis, who has been playing since 2008, was joined by her partner Jim Mitchell when she was presented with her cheque.

Local charities such as the Lee O’Brien Solvent Trust (L.O.S.T.) have benefitted from the People’s Postcode Lottery.

To date, £31.3million has been raised for charities and good causes across Great Britain.
