ST Monans is to stage its Community Arts Festival later this year.
The fourth event of its type is scheduled for the weekend of September 7-9.
There will be a broad selection of events – visual, musical and perfomance – in venues such as the Parish Church and church hall, the town Hall and the Mayview Hotel, as well as the open air.
One possibility being looked at is ‘book busking’, where public readings can be given in the streets to passers-by.
A visual art display is planned for the church hall, making use of the festival’s own display boards, with art and crafts featuring in the town hall.
One major project is a creative writing venture on the subject of ‘Beautiful St Monans’, being set up by John Brewster.
This is open to anyone interested and will feature poetry and prose .
This event is already under way, with a closing date of June 30, and a book featuring a selection of works will be produced.
