A charity fundraising concert is to be held in Kinross Parish Church on January 24 in aid of the Save the Children Child Refugee Crisis Appeal.

The event, called ‘Sing for Syria’, is being organised by a group of friends in conjunction with Leven Voices and was inspired by the plight of Syrian refugees trying to make the perilous journey to Europe.

Said organiser Orla Beaton: “We have all been extremely moved by the scenes of families making the desperate journey and felt we should do something to help – and what better way than bringing people together through song and music? We are delighted to have a variety of choirs and musicians joining us on the day including Ayman Jarjour a celebrated Syrian classical guitarist. It should be quite a special afternoon.”

The concert takes place between 3pm and 5pm.
