Police in Levenmouth are appealing for witnesses following a break-in and theft in Windygates.

The incident happened around 11pm on Wednesday, October 5 at the Wellsgreen Golf Range on Standing Stane Road.

After the premises was entered five Calloway Big Bertha golf clubs were stolen from inside.

The total value of the these items is £1,500.

Anyone who can assist police with their ongoing inquiries is asked to come forward.

The suspect is desribed only as having a heavy build and wearing a balaclava.

Detective Constable Chris McGlinchey from Levenmouth CID said: “It is very likely that whoever was responsible for this break-in will look to sell the stolen clubs on and so I would urge anyone who is approached and offered the opportunity to buy these items to decline and report the seller to police.

“As part of this investigation we are keen to hear from anyone who remembers seeing any suspicious activity around the Wellsgreen Golf Range late on Wednesday evening and if you have information relevant to this inquiry then please contact us immediately.”

Those with information can contact Police Scotland on 101 or alternatively, the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
