Two men have been arrested following incidents of housebreaking in Fife over the summer.

A total of three incidents were reported to police at locations in the Masterton and Duloch areas of Dunfermline between July 26 and August 25.

A subsequent investigation led by Dunfermline CID resulted in the successful recovery of two stolen vehicles valued at £125,000.

The men, aged 38 and 48, and both from the Glasgow area, were arrested by officers on Friday and are expected to appear in court at a later date.

Detective Constable Lesley Duncan based at Dunfermline CID said: “I wish to thank the public for their assistance and information during this inquiry.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to remind the public about the importance of keeping their homes, garages and vehicles locked and secure at all times.

“We continue to undertake a huge amount of preventative work to tackle this form of organised crime, however we require the continued support from the public to ensure that it has the desired impact.”
