GLENROTHES is continuing to host a flurry of meetings to discuss the future of council care homes.
Relatives and staff across Fife have been expressing their anger over the decision to privatise 10 council care homes in the Kingdom.
Discussions surrounding the decision, taken at a meeting of the social work and health committee, are ongoing.
One relative told the Gazette: “We are not going to get any less angry until something changes.
“This could take a long time anyway.”
Rhona Laing, head of older people’s services in Fife Council, said: “The decision taken by the Social Work and Health Committee is at the very early stages and the replacement of our care homes will take years of planning.
“Until then it will be ‘business as usual’- no resident will move, no staff will move until new care homes are agreed and built.”
