A CUPAR couple who met while working at Luthriebank Farm in the late 1940s have celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary.

Archie and Margaret Bruce were married in St Andrew’s Church, Lochgelly, on July 12, 1952.

The pair marked their special milestone with a family lunch in Pitlessie and a barbecue for neighbours and friends at their South Road home.

Archie (86), who worked as a tractor driver at Luthriebank, hails from Ceres and went on to be a motor mechanic for the electricity board.

Lochgelly-born Margaret (84), meanwhile, was latterly a supervisor at the Tontine in the County Buildings.

The couple have lived in Cupar for more than 40 years and have a daughter, Ann Kirkaldy.

They also have two grandsons and a great-granddaughter.
