Cupar’s Children’s Gala committee is appealing for the dad who won the Derrick Duncan Cup at this year’s gala, to get in touch.

The Cup, which recognises the winner of the ‘dad’s race’ was established by Lesley, the wife of the late Derrick Duncan, and his daughter Anna, three years ago.

The Cup was won on the first two occasions by Christian Wroniecki but because he was helping out with the gala this year, Chris did not take part.

He did, however, along with long-serving gala volunteer Ivor Neville, hand over the Cup to the winner this year.

Gala chairperson Ali Rankin saidthe committee wanted to get in touch with the winner to let him know the Cup has to be returned before the 2015 event.

“We are happy for the winner to keep the trophy for now, but we would just like to know who has got it so we can arrange collection nearer the time.”

Lesley Duncan said: “ I hope that the trophy is found so that we can continue remembering Derrick at the gala.”
