The final touches are being made to preparations for the big Christmas lights switch-on in Cupar town centre tomorrow (Saturday).
The festivities begin at 11 am when the popular Christmas market opens its doors in the Corn Exchange, and conti nues with a day of fun and street entertainment that will culminate in the switch-on ceremony at 4.30pm.
In addition to entertainers including the Djembe Drummers, Cupar Pipe Band and Urban Circus, Crossgate will be lined with stalls selling soup, cakes, mince pies and other festive goodies.
Cast members from this year’s Fife Nativity, to be held at Cairnie Farm from December 20-22, will also be staging a procession.
Throughout the day, there’ll be fairground rides in the Bonnygate car park, with smaller rides for little ones in Crossgate.
The day’s events have been organised by Cupar at Christmas, a group of volunteers whose fund-raising efforts were boosted this year by a group of plucky local businessmen.
They raised £1100 towards the lights by stripping off for a calendar called ‘Men of Cupar’.
