Around 1000 locals turned out for a day packed full of sporting activity at the Glenrothes Town Festival.

The event was organised by Cycle Glenrothes and was aimed at encouraging people to get healthy by getting out and about.

There were a number of sporting clubs there on the day but the main focus was on cycling and Scottish stunt team The Clan put on a fantastic display.

The festival was officially opened by Depute Provost of Fife, Kay Morrison, who said she was delighted with the turn out.

“The good weather helped and it was a really good day.

“I hope this will encourage locals to take advantage of the new cycle lanes around the town and the others which have recently been enhanced.”
