A FORMER Methil man says he plans to “unite the Old Firm” as he takes part in a gruelling trek across the Gobi Desert.
Jock McInness (54) and now of Scone, has organised the Gobi Desert Challenge trek in aid of the Davie Cooper Centre, in tribute to the Rangers great, and Motor Neurone Disease Scotland out of support to the Celtic legend Jimmy Johnstone who died of the condition.
Jock, who will start the 100 mile, 14 day Mongolian trek on September 3, joked: “It takes a man from Fife to unite the Old Firm.
“Myself and (former Rangers player) Willie Henderson had breakfast one day and said that we wanted to go and do it.
“I’ll be taking 20 people with me, including Willie, and I’ve only met a few of them.”
