WHEN it comes to live music, Dunfermline is the place to be next weekend.
An action-packed three days of all things musical is set to take place across the town for Dunfermline Live.
Some national names - Reverend and the Makers, Shed Seven, The Rezillos (main pic) and James Walsh - are set to headline at the festival, which runs from December 7-9, but organisers say there will be plenty of other treats instore, covering a variety of music styles.
As well as the larger ticketed events, there are a lot of free events running throughout the weekend with over 40 live acts playing in more than 20 venues.
A number of local acts will also be performing at the musical extravaganza including the likes of the Coaltown Daisies (pic left), Boot Magna, Waiting on Jack (below left) and Crayons.
The Fife Soul Orchestra, Johnstown Flood, Baby Isaac, The Counterfeit Clash and Stevie Agnew are also on the bill.
There are also two other elements to the fun weekend.
On the Saturday afternoon four acoustic performers will be ‘Roaming Aroond the Toon’, visiting eight different -and unusual - venues playing free gigs.
Without giving too much away, the list includes jewellers, hairdressers and restaurants.
There will also be educational workshops running on both the Saturday and Sunday, including drum, guitar and singing lessons, and sound engineering and a whole lot more.
A spokesman for the organisers said: “Dunfermline Live has come about to be the sole music festival in Dunfermline.
“Local promoters, Weekend Revolution, have run a festival in town for five years called FifeFest.
“They are on board this year and have got together wtih Dunfermline Delivers to make on music festival that caters for all.
“Going forward we see real potential in this partnership to make Dunfermline Live a very established, main stay in the Scottish festival calendar.
“This is a fantastic start and will grow from strength to strength in the years to follow.
“We hope the public of Fife come out and show support for a fantastic event and also welcome everyone who is travelling from further afield to enjoy the Dunfermline Live programme.”
